Happy King Kamehameha Day

Happy King Kamehameha Day

Kamehameha the Great

Amazing sunsets, crystal clear waters, black sand beaches and tropical, lush rainforests... It's not just Hawaii's natural beauty that inspires us every day, but also its rich culture and the connection between the two. Therefore, our jewelry often features beautiful shells and pearls that pay tribute to the beautiful beaches, but there is still so much inspiration that can be found in the ancient tales, legends and history of the beautiful Pacific islands.

Today Hawaii and the rest of the world celebrate King Kamehameha, a former warrior, diplomat and leader of Hawaii who once united the Hawaiian Islands into a unified kingdom. The unification took place in 1810 and through it the Kingdom of Hawaii was able to grow and develop into what it is today: a strong entity seen, respected and valued by the world. According to legend, King Kamehameha was destined to achieve something great after a bright star lit up the sky when he was born.

King Kamehameha, known as the Father of the Hawaiian Nation, is also known for laying the foundation for the "Aloha Spirit Law" codified in the Hawaii Revised Statutes. The law explains that "Aloha Spirit" is the coordination of mind and heart in every human being. It brings every person to themselves. Every person must think and feel good feelings for others.

As a brand and as people who are so inspired by the islands, history and culture of Hawaii, we strive to live Aloha and spread it to our customers, friends and family around the world.

How do we do this? By being kind to each other, respecting each other and being open and honest. But above all, by giving back:

We are proud to announce that today we have donated more than €180,000 to environmental organizations, as well as supporting projects promoting equality for women and charities working with children. It is always a great pleasure for us to work with organizations based in Hawaii, like our dear friends at Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii. Together we removed 1,264 pounds of plastic from Hawaii's shores last July, and we're excited about our next big campaign.

I can't wait to tell you more about it soon!

Kind regards, Lauri
